Letters to the Membership

IDES is actively working to implement the recently enacted federal stimulus package as it relates to unemployment benefits. We understand that many people are eager for information about how this will impact their current and future unemployment benefits, particularly those who have not traditionally been eligible for benefits, including independent contractors and sole-proprietors. However, the stimulus package will take time to implement, and some of the unemployment benefits included do not begin immediately. Therefore, we ask that individuals who believe they qualify for unemployment benefits please wait to call our customer service center until the program has been fully implemented in order to allow our front-line employees to process the large increase in claims for regular unemployment benefits.  If you believe you qualify under the new federal programs, you may apply for regular unemployment benefits online; however, you may receive a letter denying your application until IDES has fully implemented the new programs. Further details about these new federal programs, how to apply, and eligibility requirements will be made available as soon as they have been finalized.  Information will be accessible at IDES.Illinois.gov once available.

CEU Classes

The following extension for Plumbers and their CEU has now been put into effect by the State.

Section 750.1 COVID-19 Emergency Provisions EMERGENCY Due to the public health emergency related to the COVID-19 outbreak, the following shall apply to this Part: a) The plumbers' license renewal deadline set forth in Section 750.400(b) is extended to August 28, 2020. b) The apprentice plumbers' license renewal deadline set forth in Section 750.410(b) is extended to August 28, 2020. ILLINOIS REGISTER DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE OF EMERGENCY AMENDMENT c) The plumbing inspector certificate renewal deadline set forth in Section 750.720(a) is extended to August 28, 2020.

2020 Illinois Plumbing License Renewal and CE Deadline Extended  
Emergency Rules have been adopted and Governor Pritzker has issued an Executive Order extending the deadline for renewal of Illinois plumbers’ licenses and continuing education requirements until August 28th.  This applies to plumbers, apprentices, and inspectors. Local 130 CEU Classes
It is recommended that you still go online and renew your license in order to avoid a backlog. Once you complete the required continuing education, the credit will be uploaded and your license will be issued.   

As a result of COVID-19 and in order to comply with the CDC regulations and for the health and safety of our members and staff, CEU at all 3 locations has been cancelled until further notice.

At this time we do not know when this class will be rescheduled, once we have a date your registration will be honored and you will receive notification.

Announcement from the Local 130 UA Vision Center

Local 130 UA Vision Center/Union Eyes Urgent Care Hours Due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

In light of the evolving pandemic and out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to limit our practice hours to care for emergency patients only while following strict CDC guidelines.

Plumbers protect the health of the nation and are considered to be essential workers during a shelter in place order.  If you suffer an EYE EMERGENCY such as an abrasion or foreign body while at work or home, DO NOT GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM.  CALL The LOCAL 130 UA Vision Center FIRST at 312-888-9999.  As essential healthcare providers it is our duty to keep other essential workers out of the emergency room and urgent care centers where the virus may be spread.

Many other eye care providers across Illinois have closed their doors.  Dr. Luke is on call to take care of your urgent needs.  Should you require urgent care, please call our office as you normally would at 312-888-9999, and Maggie will be able to assist you.  If you need to order contact lenses to last you through this crisis, please contact our office.  Our staff will consult with Dr. Luke or Dr. Bob to mail you your needed supplies.

We did not make this decision lightly.  A great deal of care, research and planning guided our decision. We will continue to evaluate the situation as it evolves and determine on a biweekly basis when it is appropriate for us to return to our normal business hours.
